It took him far too long to realize this, but Zuko is grateful that he finally understands that while their goals are the same, it is in their differences that they find their strength and in the blending of all those infinite variations they can create that hope can grow.

It is raining today so:

Gray, clouds, puddle

Do I even need to specify the verse?

The members of the mansion move along their appointed tasks efficiently and smoothly, never pausing even once to acknowledge the two boys huddle by the window and staring out through the grayness outside.

By the time they have donned their rain gear and are running around under the rainy clouds and through the puddles, splashing water wherever they go, the warm towels and change of clothing are already by the door. Hovering nearby is a little maid whose task will be to warn the older staff when the boys come back in, so that they may wrestle the protesting children ("No really! We're water monsters, you're killing us, aigh!") into dry outfits and then push mugs of thick hot chocolate into their eager, chilled hands so that they may be warmed up and fussed over, as all little boys coming out of the rain ought to be.

The most insidious of wars is the one you know nothing about. It is the one which steals those close to you, and then your memories of them, even as it sends you to hell again and again, with neither care nor remorse. Gesicht wishes he could explain this to Astro somehow, and in the same thought realizes the boy probably came to this knowledge years ago and hoped no one else (no other robot) would ever come to the same understanding. The numbness spreads through his body and Gesicht is falling, dying - he knows this, but why does he not feel anything, cannot hear anything? In that last moment, he sends everything he knows, everything he has collected to Astro, the last one who still lingers on, even as the world believes him to have been murdered ( ... )

World of Warcraft: Zeppelin, murloc, omen.

The murlocs clustered about the new addition to their reef, circling the odd contraption from the sky with the bravest and boldest of them sometimes daring to step a bit closer than the others to prod the thing with a spear or two. (Or three in the case of Mrgglgllgg, but he cheated anyway what with being spawned with three arms, the smug little bastard.)

Finally, the eldest of them (all of six hours old!) raised his finned palms to the sky and declared the woundrous flying craft to be an omen. Clearly, the gods had finally recognized the important of murlocs and deemed them worthy to join them in the skies! Without further ado, the murlocs swarmed over the downed zeppelin, fighting over the best place to take while waiting for the craft to take them to their new home in the heavens.

"Hey look! I need those for my quest!"

"Oh god, which body part do we need now?"

"Brains."

"...this is gonna take a while."

"Yeeeeaaaaah."
