Anyway, could it be that the cold case is reopened (perhaps at the urging of ELC), and Abby proves that Gibbs murdered him? Which leaves her with a moral quandary? Cover up the forensics, which she sees as gospel, to protect Gibbs?
I'm also beginning to think that this is going to be Gibbs revenge-killing coming back to haunt him - it was tried a bit at the end of last season with the forced link to the woman on the LA team in Legend - and then she didn't sign on for the series - Ha! I can think of ways it could be tied in with Abby being put into a position to "betray" him to the authorities over it, (and would tie in with it coming up again in Mother's Day - now that was a tedious episode). It was tired then and it'll be even more tired if they do go that way to finish the season. Gibbs doesn't have a personal life, everything we get on him revolves around the death of his wife and child and while it would undoubtedly color the rest of his life it wouldn't BE the rest of his life. He needs a woman like Abby to tame him
( ... )
Preach on. It's like season 6 all over again. Started out really strong then deteriorated into mediocrity or OOCness (the whole Mother-in-Law thing was such such a shark-jumping moment that it was painful.) Doesn't really matter what "shocking" ending they pull in the finale, it'll be undone by the second episode without there being any real ramifications (as indicated by the previous two season enders, especially six with Ziva's yet unexplained and frankly character assassinating behavior.)
So I totally agree with the sigh. This season has been such a letdown ...
The bag of evidence that Abby brings back from Mexico, could easily be from his murdering his families killer. That is my thought as well. And Abby can link the evidence to Gibbs. He just stopped taking the polygraph when the killing/felony came up.
I think "Rule 51" is that you can't commit a felony and be in NCIS. Though next season Gibbs will provide evidence that the killing was sanctioned, a "get out of jail card" as was refrenced with the alleged CIA killing of LaGraneaux.
I'd be interesting to see Abby as part of the people in peril, and a major storyline in general (on the other hand, if Mike Franks dies, I can honestly say I don't care). Maybe Gibbs isn't the only one who will end up changed. And he's supposed to struggle with whatever he decides at the beginning of next season.
I was thinking, and I hope I'm wrong, but they said no one from the team was going to die in the finale... however, they didn't say anything about next season's premiere. What if Gibbs or someone else from the team ends up injured and fighting for their life until the premiere?
I'm pondering that Gibbs is going to choose saving his team, the devastating part of that decision being that Franks gets killed.
It challenges his rules ... Rule #1: Never screw over your partner. Rule #15: Always work as a team.
If he sees Franks as a partner, and his team as his team, who does he choose? From the sound of it, Gibbs'll have to make a choice, and he's obviously going to choose his team. But to Gibbs, to let Franks die, that's a struggle.
im thinking about the ausiello pregnancy blind spoiler. it sounds like abby may get pregnant =/ im also assuming her and tim get into trouble in mexico and gibbs comes to the rescue. also thinking mexico has to do with the guy they got arrested in mexico (the client of the evil lawyer) and he has a grudge against gibbs and the team, (threat from beginning of season). there was somehting else but i forgot while writing this...grrr

..but what if Shannon and/or kelly is still alive and had to change their identities..
That would certainly put Gibbs in a very big dilemma!
