It was snowing at home, too, when we performed Midsummer. Though of course it was the middle of winter, then, so it wasn't a shock. It's kind of funny, though, that it happened again here. And my father, watching-- I guess it's fitting, somehow, even if I didn't like it.I wanted to say, for everyone who helped make the play happen-- thank you ( Read more... )

all's well that ends well, summer solstice, curse [after], acting, in love with life, father's day, a midsummer night's dream

The snow was a stroke of good poetry, the landscape a blank canvas for the artist's brush. That and it no doubt helped to kill all of those miserable thrice-damned parasites that were around.

You're looking for suggestions? What about The Importance of Being Earnest?

I think you're right. A little more warning would've been nice, though, so we could've planned for everyone's costumes to be a little warmer. But it turned out well.

I haven't read it, what's it about?

lj just gave me this notif >_> winewomenand June 23 2009, 23:09:17 UTC
I wasn't bothered. But I wasn't dressed in gossamer.

It is about a man in England named Algernon, an aristocrat from London, who pretends to have a friend named Bunbury in the country who is frequently in ill health. Whenever Algernon wants to avoid an unwelcome social obligation, he "visits Bunbury" instead. It's about other things, as well, but that is the start of it all.

It could have been much worse for most of us, I think. Well, all in all I'm more than satisfied.

That sounds like it could be fun... I'll have to see if I can find a copy.

[ooc; bwaha, i had just been paging through a gallery before i posted and found that |D]

Well, thanks to you too, Neil, because you did most of the work. The rose is lovely, by the way.

I didn't really do that much, I just found people do everything for me!

Robin brought them, I just shared them around.

Even delegation is an important skill.

Well, that's still very nice of you.

Sure, but... I couldn't have done it without all of you, either. Think you'd like to stay with it, Yuuko?

It was my pleasure.

Maybe you're the reason it snowed, then. Sometimes things happen for a reason, don't you think?

And thank you again for the rose! It's with the rest of my collection, drying. A bit out of order, though--we've skipped yellow and gone right on to green.

I think. Though I'm not sure I could see myself being responsible for the whole City's weather! More likely it's just because it was Midsummer, maybe the most inappropriate time for a snowstorm.

Thank Robin for them, really-- he brought them.

Well, they say it happens every summer, at some point--and the reverse in the winter, too. But I still like the thought that you had something to do with it, too!

...Did he? Well. Hn. I'll certainly have to, then, the next time I see him.

You never know, maybe I did. Maybe all of us did. It certainly made things a little more magical in some ways.

Mmhmm, a few dozen of them.

On a scale of one to ten, how bored are you now?

Because I'm not doing eight things at once anymore, you mean?

That's exactly what I mean.

I suggest something cheerful.

Definitely. I'd much rather do happy plays than sad ones, at least... for a while.

Anything in particular?

Western comedy isn't my forte.

Well, it doesn't have to be Western...
