♕ |[5]| She soared--and I awoke, struggling in vain to follow.

Impossible really doesn't have much meaning here, does it? Walking through other people's dreams was amazing. I understand why some people didn't enjoy it-- I mean, I guess it depends on whose dreams you see and what they're about-- but I guess I was lucky. All the dreams I stumbled into were pleasant ones. Yuuko, Rosella, thank you for showing ( Read more... )

secret societies are secret, curse [after], dream vortex, idk my bff todd, acting, poetry, a midsummer night's dream

I liked it!

Well, maybe, but it's a start, right?

Yes. We need to figure that out... I still think you'd make an excellent Demetrius, but if you don't want to... hmn. The actors' parts are kind of silly, I don't know how you feel about that... You could be Oberon, if you wanted, but somehow it doesn't really seem like you.

Rimbaud. Coleridge. They're my favorite poets... the other Romantics are fine, though. I have anthologies if the library doesn't cooperate.

...If you need any small parts filled, I could do that, maybe. I have the play memorized, but being on stage sounds nerve-wracking.

I haven't read any Rimbaud, I don't think. Any pieces in particular you'd recommend?

Well... hmn, let's see. Maybe one of the actors? I don't think Quince has too many lines. Though if you're nervous about acting, maybe acting the part of an actor acting another part isn't the best place to begin. If you prefer, Peaseblossom and Mustardseed and the others have very brief parts... only two scenes, I think?

[ooc: ...that might be inaccurate, sob, it's been a while since I read it |D]

The trick to Rimbaud is finding a decent translation (or learning French to read the originals). "The Drunken Boat" is a good one to start with.

I'm probably more of a Quince than a fairy. Hopefully, though, you'll find enough actual actors.

[ooc: Same here, so don't worry. XD Sorry about the tag fail there...]

I'll look into it.

Well, I'll put you down for a tentative Quince, and if someone else is interested in the role we can do something else, how's that?

[ooc: hee, no worries! <3]

There's no such thing as impossible in this City.

I like the works of Sylvia Plath, e.e cummings, T.S. Eliot, Andrew Motion, and Anna Akhmatova myself.

I haven't even heard of half of them. I've read some Eliot, at least.

Oh. Well you should check them out at the library sometime. It has a bit of everything I hear.

I'll always have a soft spot for Sappho.

I'll also always have a hard spot for Sappho.

She was one of the better erotic minds of her time. And she did inspiring poetic work on the idea of war.

Of course, I also like Oscar Wilde and Shakespeare, and porn haikus.

I think you're one of the lucky people. I'm pretty sure more than half of the people here had like the worst experiences of their lives. It's weird, though. I always thought dreams were supposed to be about flying hippos who breathe fire and talk with a Sean Connery accent.

I don't think I have a favorite poem or poet. I never really got into poetry in high school.

That's kind of disappointing, somehow, that so many people were having bad dreams at the time. The ones I saw did make a lot of sense, which is odd, now that you point it out-- no fire-breathing flying hippos.

Clearly, this means we have to find you some poetry, Claire.

I'm kind of disappointed. Fire-breathing flying hippos would have been awesome.

Are you staging an intervention?

Maybe next time.

I think everyone needs some poetry in their life.
