I almost rather wonder if the magic around it had something to do with keeping the storm out. I tried quite hard to think that any storms or flooding were unwelcome in here, in the hopes that it might throw any water out the same way it can throw out people, but I don't know if that did any good. I've heard that the storm was worse for us out at sea than it was for the City.
[She pauses briefly.]
But in any case, it's lucky things worked out as they did, and I'm thankful for it. There are a lot of memories around here that I'd hate to see ruined.
Action; sob we were saying Rosella needs to find out about them soon >3had_not_livedOctober 4 2010, 15:35:55 UTC
Oh, definitely. All our important things, and all the books, are fine, which I'm very glad for. And I'm kind of glad I didn't manage to take much with me, though when we left I wanted to.
Action; plenty of opportunity when they're all in the same house!primrosellaOctober 4 2010, 17:15:42 UTC
Oh, you felt that way, too? That sort of--tugging, almost, to grab as much as you could and then go running for the ship? I'd thought that was just my own worry at first, but then when I found out about that captain and the other people feeling the same and of course the wreck, it made it much clearer that it was really a curse doing it, not ourselves.
Action; muaaahahahahahad_not_livedOctober 4 2010, 17:29:34 UTC
Well... I'm not sure. The Captain spoke to me on the Network and it seemed... I thought it was really going to flood, so of course we ought to go and help get things ready.
[He shrugs slightly.]
It's hard to tell, sometimes, whether you've got a choice about things here. I suppose it must've been the curse, or I would have been more worried when he said his name was Ahab.

Ahab? I didn't hear that, myself.
[She just knows that people who seem to arrive out of nowhere and take charge in the middle of calamities are often bad news, no matter who they are or where they're from. But her brow furrows a little as she tries to puzzle out the significance of that name.]
Action; excellent! :DprimrosellaOctober 4 2010, 22:05:25 UTC
I should say so! It could've been the sort of whale that likes to swallow people if they're not paying attention, rather than the kind that--if the rumors are true, in any case--helps to bring people to shore.
[It's a sort of a joke, really. Mostly because of the sudden, almost comical disgust that comes up when she mentions people being swallowed by whales.]
Neil...

Why would you have been worried?

[His expression makes it unnecessary to say, that doesn't go well.]

[He sighs a bit, shifting to get more comfortable and returning to his cocoa and trying to look a bit more cheerful.]
Still, it could've gone much worse.

That would've been harder to get away from, I think.
