[brain dump]

I have been completely taken over by the Olympics and Generation Kill. No, seriously. My entire schedule revolves around 'Olympics! I must haz them now!' and then they're airing everything I want to see when I'm supposed to be asleep and this would be awesome if I were kept woman (I'm looking at you, Ryan Gosling), but since I have rent to pay, ( Read more... )

generation kill, olympics are serious business

Also, is the entire Brazilian volleyball team sleeping together? Inquiring minds think so

I couldn't say, but I'm pretty sure the entirety of men's synchronized diving is. Lyra and I sat there last night, completely distracted from whatever Very Important Life Topic we were discussing, because it was so very, very gay. Also, Sascha Klein is pretty.

Er, do I want to know why you suddenly felt the need to define RPS?

DUDE! I know rite?! Literally the U.S. team came out and before I even heard his voice count I was like, he's gay. No, he's gay. He's most definitely gay. And then he started counting and I was like, yeah, so gay. And when the commentator was all, "Their families are such good friends, they're sharing an apartment" my brain was like, they are so having sex in the middle of the night while their parents are asleep! Trufax! Also, dude, the UK diver who was all of 14 years old and his like 30 year old partner was crazy. I was like, um, aren't you too young to be here? Really? Have your gonads dropped even? Not that one has anything to do with the other, but 14?! DUDE.

Er, do I want to know why you suddenly felt the need to define RPS?You know, that general state of ( ... )

I know, he was so wee! I'm assuming diving does not have the same age restrictions as gymnastics, though, since he was *here*.

Oh, yeah, the U.S. team was SO slashy. That's the one where Lyra was all "oh, no question in my mind!" I mean, really.

It was walking, diving slash, dude. All the grinning and the back slapping, I swear somebody got yanked behind a column for some post-dive groping. They've been together since they were 10; it's like those Poppy Z Brite books, but with diving instead of cooking!

So, the real Nate Fick has had a society wedding and various other things, the Nate Fick in my head will retire one day and get a house on the water in Hermosa Beach so Brad can go racing his motorcycles all the time.

YES.

(Also, I may have spent a day or so dreaming up a OT3 scenario with Fick and Colbert and the wife, and they had a kid named Gloria. THIS AND THE MEDIEVAL DRAGON AU ARE TOTALLY COCKBLOCKING MY PORNAGE!)

alethialia thinks Nate's going into politics based on the whole Harvard degree from the Policy School, I can't actually say until I've, I dunno, read the book. Wait, did Nate really have a little girl named Gloria?

Um, medieval dragon?

Okay, so, uhm, the thing is, Nate and Brad don't actually know whose kid it is and Maggie (the wife) isn't telling them even though she knows. Maggie is best with Gloria when she's a baby/toddler, she's all Brad's when she's in her early teens and all Nate when she gets her idealism on late in her teens. OMG MAKE ME STOP.

Seriously. My thoughts on the subject are already too elaborate.

[In real life, I don't know anything of Nate's offspring, I do not think he has any. Yet.]

Also, omg medieval dragon AU. Brad and Nate and the boys in some type of medieval fantasy world with dragons, where they go to war, with dragons. It's all about swords and leather and chain-mail and OMG MAKE ME STOP... NOW!

I think we may be sharing the same brain. :-)
Thanks for the info on Nate's book. I will be checking that out. Also, did you see the major picspam of Alex in the GK comm today? Tasty.

I haven't had a chance to see the picspam, but I plan to enjoy it most definitely. And yes, I have Nate's book in the post. I figure I will do a back-to-back reading with it and GK.

so you can stop cutting and pasting whole sections to press the case for your favorite pairing.

::coughs:: Copying and PASTING? Dude, more like typing out the long way. Copying and pasting would be a step up. But, ya know, good cause and all. The book is great for the little details (especially how to spell military jargonish things, thank GOD).

suaine has demonstrated why I probably need to get Nate's book, too. (After Wright left them Nate took all the guys on a day trip to Babylon! Where he and Brad had dirty, kinky sex against the Ishtar Gate.

Obviously people don't understand the awesomeness of this fandom. And today we get wet, soapy pics of Alex. Good fuckin' day.

I understand some people saying Marine RPS? You've totally done it now, but I very clearly understand that my fascination with GK has to do with the actors playing real people and their characterizations there of, not the people themselves.

Thank you for this. That's it exactly.

OMG. You did not! You did?! Okay, I will write you something special. Really. And yes, the minute you told me Nate wrote a book, I went out an bought it.

::has so much love::

Actually if you stuck him somewhere in OC he could run for office as a Republican and actually win (the boy tends toward the conservative side according to Wright). But, ya know, that's just me running with my politics theory.

I actually will write this story one day. Trufax.

I so did. But it really wasn't a hardship; I wanted to keep a list of relevant Colbert quotes for myself anyway.

Not that I'm saying no to your very sweet offer of fic, of course... ;)
