Re Book Relief - everyone should also check out the young (and growing!) Dewey Donation System - you can make a monetary contribution, or purchase items from a library's Amazon wish list. (The charity also gets a small "affiliate" dividend from Amazon, which they then pass on to the libraries as well. As they describe it on the site, it's a "donation echo". Awesome.) They're currently focused on libraries on the Gulf Coast destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, but have big plans for expansion.
