 So, 2008 isn't over yet, but at the risk of being extremely premature in my judgment of the year... 2008 can suck a dick.

I thought 2007 was bad--that was because I didn't know the absolute SHIT FEST that awaited me.  2007 is a fond memory by comparison.

Things with the fam haven't been good this year, and some recent tension between my grandparents

*Hugs* Things seem to go from bad to worse. If there is a 'bright' side, it's that 2008 is 3/4 finished.

P.S. If I lived close to you, I would invite your mom out for coffee and have a 'mom to mom' talk with her, and tell her how what you wrote spared my 'just gradutated from college' son more grief, 'cause I was guilty of bugging him about looking for a job, too.
