Amazon wants me to buy a Kindle. Every time I check my email, there's a message from Amazon extolling the virtues of the Kindle. Unfortunately, for them, besides not having the moolah, I have no need for such an item...but I'm not entirely against the existence of the Kindle (or the Barnes & Noble Nook or any other e-reading device

That's EXACTLY why I have one. I have just as much of a sentimental attachment to paper books as anyone else, but when you travel as much as I do (did) the Kindle is a miracle.
