Mrs.Ryan is wrong.

I'm trying to prove a point to someone.

Everyone who has read Lord of the Flies, preferably in an english class, please respond to this. And I know that's most of you.

What do the characters Simon and Piggy represent? Two seperate things.

Thanks.

According to my English I class, Simon is the Messiah, while Piggy is the Superego. Piggy wanted law and order. He wanted the conch and meetings. Simon was trying to save the boys from themselves. Simon saw that the beastie was just thier fears in the jungle and tried to tell the other boys this news, but the boys ironically killed thier savior.

Gabbi says: "Simon represents Jesus and Piggy was supposed to represent something like youth. Or at least that's what I remember from Mrs. Steighner's class."

Piggy was the superego.
Simon was the ego.
Jack was the id.

It's the only logical way to look at it taking into account Simon's lack of Piggy's intellect or Jack's whimsical bitchiness, not to mention that Simon was always the moderater. Maybe if you don't count Piggy, then Simon could be the superego....

You had it taught by Mrs.Ryan though, so you're obviously going to say the same thing as what David's saying, being taught by her. Biases, blarh.

Well, I can justify my argument.
If you can justify another argument, then that works too.

Urgh.. Now this was a book that I "Despised" with all my cold heart..

Simon was the super Ego
Piggy's was the Ego..

I believe that the ID was Jack.
