How did you like 'Heat?' (Clearly you enjoyed it.) I did a short review of it in my Livejournal a week or two ago. I loved the stuff about Mario Batali, but had a hard time keeping interested in topics like when the egg was introduced to pasta.
(BTW, I found you through either leonardpart6 or wbgoose13, I can't remember which.)
I did like it quite a ... well, I was going to say a bit, but really I liked it a lot. For me it was one of those "Why the fuck didn't I think of that?" books - but then, I'm not a loaded New Yorker editor, so even if I HAD thought of that, it would have been a short-lived notion. I liked his random obsessions with polenta and such, but sometimes I like to pretend that someday I might actually learn how to write well about food, so ... I sort of filed them away under "random useful information. Uh, maybe."
(Was wondering where the new feller came in from. You sure it wasn't dtaylor? 'Cause that was the first possibility that occurred to me. Anyway, nice to meet you!)
hi, i just found your journal through comments on another journal i read and i have to say this is a great idea. i'm always kicking myself but lazily never keeping track of movies i've seen, books i've read, and shows i've gone too. well, i take that back, i keep track randomly then forget about it. i may steal this idea!
