There is an inherent sense of awesomeness when you manage to down a boss (Here's looking at you, Mr. Bladefist) with a group that, while determined, level-headed, and otherwise decent, lacked the gear and experience (levels, not strategy, they would quickly adapt to any situation) to pack enough punch to make the Big Bad's encounter easier than it ( Read more... )

Holy Priest (68, normal-geared, could get two-shotted by Kargath's Blade Dance if he critted twice in a row), Rogue (69, good gear, but bad weapon), Druid Tank (me, 70, nearly done with pre-heroics tank set), Warlock Demononologist (70, clad in pre-Kara Spellstrike gear) and a 70 BM Hunter with decent but not phenomenal gear.

We wiped thrice.

First time was splitting DPS amongst adds and Kargath. Priest wasn't prepared for the damage of the dance (her first time, meh, so it was cool). She died first, then it went all downhill from there.

Second time was smarter positioning, more DPS on Kargath with pets handling the mobs. Pets died later on, too many single-heals needed. Then the priest got two-shotted by Kargath. Wipe.

Third time was the charm. I multi-tanked all, with all DPS focused on Kargath. Occasional AOE would thin down the crowd. We won that time.
