Well, I am quite melancholy this morning... no reason why, really : I guess I am tired, that's all.

Anyway... I woke up with a poem by Tennessee Williams in mind, one I like particularly. It suits the mood I guess ;-)

I thought I would share it...

This is beautiful, especially here:

And finally the broken stem
The plummeting to earth; and then

with the suspended "and then" at the end of the verse, before it links to the next one.

Melancholy poems are my favourite.

I've seen in your profile that you're reading Dante, which intrigues me, because I teach him. Hope you like the Comedy.

I finished Dante last week actually... I liked it a lot... It needs some getting used to certainly when you embark the journey (the French version I read didn't try to actualize the language at all, so I had sometimes difficulties to make sense of the meaning...), but I particuarly enjoy being surprised by an author... and let him/her take me in new territories... Really, it was a good journey... (Even if I have to admit I found Paradise somewhat boring ;-)... )
