The first six minutes were basically all Lisbon. They weren't crucial, but it showed her in her new job. She is "Chief Lisbon" now, in what I would assume is a smaller town. It's definitely a quieter life, although it pains me to think that she might not be completely happy. I love her far too much, it's problematic.
There was a lot of charm to Jane living a simple life on whatever island he was on, and writing Lisbon letters (though, I so wrote that better, P.S.)Well, I can only agree here. But if I recall correctly, you ended that fic with Jane coming home and slipping a letter under her door that ended with "I love you." THEY CAN NEVER TOP THAT. (Also, yeah, I appear to have an unhealthy knowledge of your fics, ahahaha. I'm sure this surprises you immensely.) But I admit to being ridiculously pleased that he's been writing her all this time. And a lot of letters, judging by that box she opened in her living room. I just had not been expecting that. Hoping, but not expecting given I wanted to keep all expectations as low as

WAIT, are you tell me that I managed to essentially miss the ENTIRE LISBON PART? AKA THE PART THAT I CARE ABOUT? GAH. I will have to watch that somewhere. Stupid show. I still say I would rather her be semi-happy as Chief Lisbon somewhere small than the FBI's whipping girl of the week in Jane's new scheme though
( ... )
Hahaha, yes. Which is why I mentioned it; figured you may want to still watch it because it's Lisbon. She wears a Police Chief uniform and it's cute. But like I said, painful at the same time. And I completely agree that it's definitely better than her being Jane's whipping dog once more, but you were right that they should've had Lisbon in some upper level job at the FBI already for me to be okay with how any of this is going to work. Because I can't see any way in which I won't hate it now. I was glad they at least included the line of her saying she wouldn't drop everything just for him, but short of a physical beating, I'm probably not going to like whatever they come up with next.
I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE POST SCRIPT. And then she yanks open the door and he's there. Sigh. Why does fic always do it better than canon
( ... )
I will watch it at some point. This show though. I really am not sure how there is any way I like what comes next.
Fic does it better than canon, because fic tends to focus on more than one character. I am just saying. (Also, it's wish fulfillment by nature.)
Oh, no worries. I don't care about the TM spoilers. I really don't read many Mentalist articles, because my investment does not that way tend. I'm not super upset, bthough I agree, it'll be weird.
I was assuming it was probably the final season, but I ask because it's better if the show-runners know. Like, if they KNOW that they have thirteen episodes (or whatever) to wrap up the show, then they can plan. If not, this season might end in a mess.
Because yeah, I'm not sure how another season would work at this point. It's very much going to depend on what happens over the next few episodes.
I haven't read this yet (I'm watching 6x10 and then I'll process) but I just need to say, how on earth did Jane not see the whole Kim thing coming? I mean really. Really? Not even when she was coincidentally leaving the same time as the others? Were WE supposed to see it coming? Because as far as surprises go, they played their hand when his date was one of RJ's ladies.
The Kim thing bothered me not that much. Because the episode was just so weird and different. It was so out of context. I didn't see it coming, but I wasn't super interested either way. I also think that my expectations for that episode were so unbelievably low, that the fact that it wasn't completely terrible worked in its favour (at least for me). Which is sad, but accurate.
