Written for funbol, who prompted my first ever Gilmore Girls fic.  I’m apparently trying out all sorts of new fandoms with these prompts.  Seriously, four.  And yeah, most of them are things I’ve loved for a while, but still.  I’ve never actually written anything for them, and clearly that is what matters.  Also, Cathy, I know you asked for Luke/Lorelei ( Read more... )

Ahahaha! This is HILARIOUS.

Especially the first scene; I'm pleased you included Babette because you've got her voice and interaction with Lorelai down perfectly.

Aaaand rubber duck race! HEE. I could just see an episode of GG center around this, it's so them.

“And you know, if you see a couple of particularly speedy looking ducks, keep us in mind. We don’t want any dead weight.”

LOL. I love how you seemingly had absolutely no trouble writing all of them. And I adored her and Luke's banter. I do really love those two so much in the earlier seasons.

So really, I'm glad to have prompted your first ever fic in this fandom. Because you did a great job, I loved this!

Thank youuuu for wtiting me this ♥

Yay! I'm glad you liked it. I thought it was funny, but it's a bit hard to judge your own work for humour sometimes.

Babette is actually fairly easy to write. She has a very distinct vocal pattern and tone.

Yeah, not sure where the idea of the rubber duck race came from (except that the town my mother is from really has them, apparently. Not sure if they use rubber ducks or wooden ones though). Basically, I decided I didn't want to write post-series fic. This was the second thing that came to mind.

Luke and Lorelei are so much better in the earlier seasons. Really, to make the realtionship work, all the writers would have had to do was write them EXACTLY THE SAME with the odd kiss, or whatever. Instead they chose to make it hateful.

You're welcome for writing it. Merry Christmas!
