Dear Golden Globes and Emmy Awards, Scott Caan. Scott Caan. Scott Caan. Now! Sincerely, Anna PS: Throw in an Oscar and a Tony, because he deserves ALL the awards. Thank you.
I loved this episode and had been waiting for your recap!
I really liked the scene of Lori and Steve on those steps - I thought their relationship was perfectly pitched there. More sibling rivalry than any kind of romantic intentions. I liked that.
The tennis coach should definitely be fired for letting Grace go with Rick. He didn't even ask to see ID. I know Rick was in the police uniform but really, when you're looking after other peoples children you've gotta be better than that.
When I first watched it I didn't notice Stan's subtle little nod - I rewatched it since, of course, and it was a great little moment. Said so much about Stan is such a brief amount of time.
All the awards for Scott Caan for his performance but I thought Alex O'Loughlin was brilliant too.
Sibling rivalry! I hadn't thought of it that way, but what a perfect description!
I agree, Alex was brillant. He can be such a subtle actor sometimes, with his eyes and facial expressions. I honestly didn't notice much the first time I watched, since the story focused on Danny so much. I appreciated Alex more the second time I watched and as I sorted through the stills. His feelings were just as deep as Scott's.
It definitely seemed like a sibling-y kind of moment - especially when she pulled him over and kept running.
This episode was definitely Scott Caan's episode but Alex O'Loughlin's portrayal of Steve's fear and concern was brilliant too. He was tying to be calm and professional but he was freaking out.
I'm so glad you put that scene in the sibling perspective for me. I was trying to figure it out. Friends didn't seem right. Pulling him over in order to get ahead--that's exactly what a sister would do (I assume, although I have no way of knowing first-hand :)).
I think Steve was unraveling over both Danny and Grace, too. I may have to sort through those screencaps again.
PS: Throw in an Oscar and a Tony, because he deserves ALL the awards. Thank you. can you imagine if they randomly started singing during the episode?! OMG
“Congratulations, you know how to throw little balls around. That’s good.” I honestly looked around because that sounded like something Danny would say! I thought maybe he was hiding somewhere in the background! yeah, that was Scott hiding and feeding Alex lines...and Alex just went with it lmao
I want to run this scene in reverse and watch them all jump up onto the balcony. :D he's jumping over the balcony into the room while Danny & Steve are running out...backwards. HILARIOUS!
I am also intrigued about why they have a drain on the floor of the interrogation room. Go ahead….let your imaginations run wild with that!on the wall behind Danny/in front of Steve it looks like there's water damage, but it could be a cord to a video camera or something, but stick with water damage...the drain is probably there if they have to hose the room down due to

Yay! I was waiting for your post about this episode! :)
This was such a great episode. Well acted by everyone. Danny's ex-partner was so creepy, it was fantastic. I especially loved Steve's unraveling... so unlike him, yet completely plausible. It reminded me of his scene in the finale with the Governor. Beautiful.
I also really enjoyed Stan's nod of approval of being shot. It really speaks volumes about him as a man, and I'd love to see a scene between him and Danny where they talk about what happened. And then maybe Danny can ask Stan why he was STILL AT WORK when Grace was missing! ;)
Unraveling is the perfect word! I hadn't thought of Steve's scene from the finale, but that's so accurate. Everything is out of control and he can't fix it. And he's horrified.
I wondered why Stan was still at work, too! Part of it was just the way the show jumped from scene to scene, and I couldn't tell if things were happening in order or at the same time. But he redeemed himself greatly, in my eyes, by immediately getting in gear with the situation.
Amazing recap, as always babe! :D I love how you're able to detect all the little details, like for example Steve knowing where Grace takes her tennis lessons. I didn't catch that the first time I watched the episode. It's really sweet though! And like you said it's the little stuff that matters the most and that make us feel like a part of this ohana. ^_^ Thank you for writing this awesome recap, I really enjoyed reading it! <333
Thanks so much!!I always watch twice before I start writing, mainly because the first time through I spend a lot of time admiring all the prettiness!!! Then I pay attention to the plot and the details the second time!

Inventive interrogations, for sure! Who knows what we could come up with??
He may have shot him in the knee, you're right. But he shot him, first chance he got!
Steve carries more and more guns and equipment every episode! They all look so military these days.
Thanks for all the great comments!
