I knew I shouldn't have read this, but I couldn't help myself because it's Steve/Kono and I can't resist them. This is absolutely wonderful, heartwarming even after he dies, and I loved every moment of it. Even though I'm crying now, it was worth it. You did such a lovely job building their relationship and figuring everything out, keeping with the canon even when you had to deviate. I just love this. ♥
I'm so pleased you decided to take a chance on this story! It totally ate my brain as I was writing it, and I wish I'd had a little more time to do it justice, so I'm really happy you liked it. :)
Oh, that is really a fabulous story. Heartwrenching, in so many places (Steve, visiting the accident again and again, and meeting Danny when he's 11, and then the talk between Steve and Danny about that meeting, later, oh, man, and then the end, the end is so hard, but I love the way you wove this together and wow, this is awesome. Bravo!
well, thank you very much, I am now a mess. But it was worth it, you did a beautiful job with this . It's very touching, and intriguing, and I couldn't stop reading. So congrats and thanks for writing it !
You've taken one of my favorite books of all time and you've written an absolutely amazing story!! I love how Danny is the friend that Steve's time travels revolve around. I especially love the scene where little Steve meets Grace and Danno at the beach, how much it means to Steve. Then how Grace recognizes him as the grown up little boy, and Steve gets to thank Danny for his words of wisdom!! I was crying so hard at the end where Steve meets up with them in the future. The whole story gives me goose bumps!
I didn't know how many if any of the people who'd read this story would have been familiar with the original novel, so it was a bit of a challenge. I'm really happy you felt it rang true in spite of the major change in scenery. :)
