Riiiight, so. I sat down tonight to write a post-ep, because it's not really an ep for me until I've written something, because I'm nuts. Instead, I spent far too long watching next week's preview over and over, and then, er. Basically "Steve looked tired in this episode" and "what the hell is Steve doing sitting on a bench when there is WATER he ( Read more... )

I still have no idea what the writers were thinking putting them up on the bench at the end there. Was Scott's knee acting up? Did they want to make Steve and Danny seem like an elderly couple? It's a mystery.

I really liked this. I keep waiting for something like this to happen on the show because Steve keeps making the cases so personal and you can't do that and not burn out. Danny has clearly worked out how to care but still maintain his distance, but Steve hasn't. And that has to be taking its toll.

Also, comfort kisses are <3

This is adorable as always, and tugs at my heartstrings in just the right way.

Also, the line about Danny looking at Steve like he's a crime scene? The only things I could think of are wordstring's Sherlock fics. :3

Whoa, we read 'Hills Like White Elephants' for an exercise in my creative writing course, and until now I had yet to find anyone else who understood it. Kudos. (Now to actually read the fic, heh)

Wonderfully poignant. I can see this as canon, because Danny's been there, and maybe he's just a little bit immune to it now - all the death and sorrow - while for Steve most of it had been impersonal until he came home, and it's finally starting to take it's toll. OH BOYS :')
