Yeah, I don't even - like - it's so well-written, and of course I LOVE the characters and how you've written them in the CA!verse, and I just - GOD. I JUST LOVE THIS STORY SO HARD. I love it more and more every time I read it. And it DOES work as a cohesive piece, absolutely. I'm gonna bookmark it and read it over and over and over again. IT IS MY PRECIOUS.

It's sweet that they kinda take the first step towards being a real 'family' type unit when Neal is not at his best and his masks slip :)

This bit made me smile and giggle at how easily I could imagine that conversation. :D Anyways, this is a great story with all the trappings of the ever great hurt/comfort genre. I loved it. Great work. :D

I wake up at 2 am and find a Captain Americaverse story on my flist...and it's unbelieveably terrific. This captures the very soul of what h/c/a is supposed to be.

"Because we don't want some--some perfect version of you," he snapped, frustrated. "We don't want the guy who's always a good fuck and always solves the case and never takes off his fancy goddamn suit. We want the guy who chokes on his own spit laughing at me and steal's El's razor and eats Wheaties in our bed. We want you, Neal. "

Neal stared. After a long moment, he started laughing; he laughed so hard he choked and coughed. "I don't know how to be that guy," he admitted, when he could breathe again. "I don't know if I can--"

And Peter smiled at him, kind and a little frightened, and said "The first step is coming inside."

Makes me want to cry. Thank you.
