I feel so vindicated in my decision to take only 3 courses this semester. I haven't had this good of a time in school in a long time, especially not while working 4 days a week. I'm a little behind everywhere of course, but at least there's a plan. And I don't feel like I don't belong in these classes ( Read more... )

Yeah, I do think eventually I would remember that I actually hate school and want to be done already. What seems like the most rational plan is to finish out my BS in CS with minimal extra outlay of effort and take classes part time to finish the BA, just as a hobby, and see how far I get with that.

In may case I wouldn't even have had to stay longer; I could have taken them concurrently with the courses in my third year. I just really hate astronomy that much. But if it's a choice between a degree and getting out a year early and keeping your sanity, I'd choose the latter.

I got degrees in biochem and microbiology with a minor in chem.

As you know, I got to BAs but I didn't really see it as doing me a whole lot more than if I had gotten one. Then again, one was in Theatre Studies. Math is definitely more useful... I say if you know you really want to go to grad school for math, it can certainly look better when you apply.
