Seriously you guys - If you are in the Chicagoland area, and you're off tomorrow (Thursday) night - PLEASE go to Ballydoyle's Pub in Aurora to see the Young Dubliners...they rock!

saw them tonight at Ballydoyle's Downers Grover, and....wow. Ya see, good music, at least to this very ordinary-type person (read: not a music critic or a stuffy yuppie ( Read more... )

I love Ballydoyle's, just wish it wasnt always so crowded! It can take away from the music.
I used to go there to listen to my late friend Dan play in his band Hagan’s Root, did you ever catch them? Sadly Dan died suddenly in Nov 07 from a heart defect at only 29. He only had two heart valves instead of four as well as the disease hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I havent really been back since his memorial concert...

I went to Celtic fest downtown a few years back, saw Gaelic Storm and Seven Nations, very very good music!

Oh Christ, that's where you went?!

I've been to Ballydoyles and have seen the Young Dubliners already. Ballydoyles is to my ex what Shannon's Landings is to me. I luff you and J and all, but in light of that, good luck getting me to go there. I just don't feel like inviting a massively awkward moment.

Ack! Did not know that bar had bad memories for you. We only went there cause the Young Dubs were playing there...it's too expensive and far away to go any more than once in awhile. I'd rather go to Shannon's, actually, lol
