My opinion of the Powertec hasn't changed, though I do kind of wish I'd gotten the full cage.
Being not-tall, I need to use a couple of concrete pavers to get up high enough to be able to do rack pulls with more than about three inches' worth of ROM, even with the safety bars in the lowest hole.
Just to be a contrary voice, I should note that, if you're not moving a shitload of weight, you don't really need a top-of-the-line power cage. The lighter ones may flex a little more, but they're usually adequate for all except the really heavy weights (350-400+)
You may hear some folks complain that, after using it for a while, their lighter power cage got all loose and flexy and stuff. It seems that none of those neurosurgeons and aerospace engineers even consider tightening the bolts every once in a while.
My head, where did I lose it?pinkminxApril 25 2011, 23:30:07 UTC
Yeah, um, the one I've been using to check out children's toys, summer dresses and jewelry in the past two hours but somehow couldn't connect to my desire to buy gym equipment. Uh. Yeah. Good call. :-D

Teehee! Thats ok, its not like you shop for gym equipment that much. PS- If you're on a budget, there are plenty of folks who have made their own racks from wood. You can easily just add some brackets to studs in your garage or whatever.
