Well, its creeping up on 3am local, and nothing else has worked, so I'm taking Pliny (damn moralising Greeks!) to bed in an attempt to read myself to sleep.

Yup. It has taken me two weeks just to get through Marius & Sulla, with Crassus, Cato, Caeser & Cicero left in this volume.
