This came up on a mailing list I belong to about a week ago.

I'm particularly amused by the contradictions in priests and lay people from Latin America "worried that they can be pushed out by something that has come from abroad", and from Asia where "a lot of traditional religions are reviving"Didn't know that Catholicism was indigenous to South

So, to extract a meaningful sentence from that report, the Catholic church is unhappy because people are "failing to find ... the desire for ... the rejection of a rationalistic ... view of humanity."

I think that is a syntactically valid extraction. The church wants people to reject rationality. Hardly surprising.

If there is any such thing as a truly evil world-spanning organisation in the world, I think the Catholic church is it.
