Book #43 -- Carolyn Mackler, Guyaholic, 179 pages.
This is one of the "I don't usually read this type of book but I'll try anything once and hey, it's free!" books I got at some ALA or another. It's your basic teen romance about a high school senior known for playing the field who finally finds the one boy she wants to be serious for. If it weren't for my obsessive need to finish whatever I start, I would have actually put it down after the first three chapters or so, because the main character was just so shallow and unlikeable. But once she leaves school and heads off on a road trip and we are no longer forced to watch her perform for the crowd, I found her much more sympathetic and actually began to enjoy the story. It's still not the type of book I usually read, but it wasn't the waste of time I originally thought it was going to be.
