Book #34 -- Charles deLint, Dingo, 213 pages.
What can I say? I pretty much love everything Charles does, and this is no exception. Reading a new book of his is like going back to a familiar town you haven't seen in a few years - there might be some new shops and such, but mostly things are right where you left them.
The only issue I had with this one is that the whole twins thing was too predictable, or maybe it's just that I've gotten to know Charles' style so well. I figured out that Lainey and Em were twins that had to take turns being a girl at Miguel's very first meeting with Lainey, when he mentions that she talks as if Em were a person and that the dingo's hair was the same colour as Lainey's hair. I didn't even need the beach scene to confirm it. Although I guess figuring that out didn't really take away from my enjoyment of the story, so I shouldn't complain.
