Ok, I really fail as a geek here. But then, I've always been more fantasy-oriented than sci-fi oriented, and this has a strong sci-fi bias. At least I know where I need to improve :) The ones I've read are in bold.

Ooh, there are a bunch of good books there. Neil Stephenson is an excellent, excellent author. I loved Snow Crash and The Diamond Age. The Man in the High Castle is also an excellent read. And Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? is a MUCH better book than it was a movie, IMO.

I'm glad you like it :) I'm actually planning to change it to a more wintery scene after I get back from Thanksgiving.

Snow Crash is excellent, and Microserfs is *hilarious*. Other than those two, I've only read Hitchhiker and 1984, so I'm not much of a geek either.
