So, one of the main terms for a librarian who is the only library professional in his/her organization is a one-person-librarian. The first time I read this term, I was a little confused. Don't blame ME for the phrase. I didn't invent it. It was created by Guy St. Clair, the father of one-person librarianship. It was in response to the title of a workshop he was presenting that they called "one-man" libraries. He was politically correct before his time.

An alternative is "solo librarian."

I have been looking for another alternative name--if anyone has suggestions, email them to me at jsiess@ibi-opl.com.

Hmm . . . can't think of any other alternatives, but I do like "Solo Librarian" better.
