Heh. I wouldn't mind hiding out some place like that for awhile, but it's not really feasible. And I'm not very good at meditation. Usually when I try it has the opposite effect - I start thinking of all the stuff that's gone wrong and work my way into an anxiety attack.
At least you didn't smash your good car into the back of another car, completely totalling it (the good car, not the other car) and necessitating the entire household to now figure out how to add a 350-400 per month car payment to everything else they owe (when they still have to purchase a replacement for the BAD car). o.O
That said... yeah, I know, it sucks. I did the same thing last year with the old good car and managed to blow a tire. Didn't need an alignment, though.
Eek! I'm sorry. I actually did do that to my first car though -- it was almost 10 years old at that point, and although the damage was minor - crumpled bumper, broken headlight - the insurance company totalled it because it was so old. This is after I'd replaced just about every system in the old girl, including the engine, so she ran great.
The extra $350 a month car payment after that was not helpful, no.
