A crappy leading to a crappy day

Ok, first you need to know some background. There is a country song called "26 cents." Take the business in the advertising flyer to small claims court for the $30.00 + cost of time off handling the ticket, and even the costs for filing and for your lost pay having to go to small claims court itself.

It's not a business, it's a fundraiser for a campus club. And the ticket is from the campus police, who are easier to deal with than others - I've appealed tickets before and won, and this is a pretty cut-and-dried case. So it's not really worth going to court over.

It'll probably only take me half an hour or so at the parking offices on campus tomorrow to get the ticket gone. And I sent a strongly worded email to the head of the club that placed the flier.

I'm also going to say something to the parking folks tomorrow - the parking tags are placed in a specific spot on the windshield and if that spot is covered with a flier that the owner of the car clearly didn't put there, it seems reasonable that the parking folks should check *under* the flier before assuming that the person doesn't have a tag and writing a ticket. Had they looked under the flier my tag was clearly visible.

It's the principle of the thing.
