Book #39 -- T. L. Vidrine, Suffering Katrina: Personal Stories from Hurricane Katrina's Survivors, 56 pages.
This short book was written by a volunteer in the Lamar-Dixon shelter after Katrina. She recorded the stories she heard from those living at the shelter, and tells their stories along with her own experience in this book. Although the collection of personal tales is well done, this book is self-published and it shows. The writing is often awkward, and there are spelling and grammatical errors. In addition, when she deviates from personal experience and begins stating facts they are often wrong. Overall, it's a nice book in desperate need of an editor.
