Book #49 -- Steven Gould, Jumper, 344 pages.
Good old fashioned fun teen sci-fi about a kid who can teleport. I'm going to have to read the others in the series and then see how the movie turned out.
Book #50 -- Thomas Neff, Holding Out and Hanging On: Surviving Hurricane Katrina, 98 pages.
A series of photographic portraits and accompanying stories of Katrina holdouts in New Orleans. This is not shock photography -- there are few images catastrophic destruction and none at all of dead bodies. Just live people and their stories. A wonderful book that really puts you in touch with the human side of this great tragedy.
