I never saw The Unit, so Pacific Rim was the first time I saw Max Martini play a good guy. I saw him on screen and went, "oh! That's the hot stubbly dude who's always playing a law-enforcement or an ex-military specialist GONE BAD in all those procedurals!" Huh, I didn't know he was going to be in Person of Interest season premiere. I'm with you -- the chance of him not playing the villain-of-the-week is pretty low. Maybe they'll surprise us.

Ah ha ha "hot stubbly dude" FTW. Yeah, and it totally sounds like he's someone from Reese's past, which ups the chance even more that he'll be bad. Though it's hard to tell for sure from the TiVo descriptions if that's really the case or not. He could just be a random guy, though if he knew Reese before, that would increase the hoyay odds.

Some actors just get so badly type-cast, it is upsetting. The guy in my icon played the hero in this one series so well, but never got another role like it. He kept getting roles as psychopathic assassins etc.

I often wonder what that does to the actors? Like, do they get depressed, or are they just happy to have the work?

I have it from various sources close to this particular actor, Michael Gothard, that he didn't like the way he was typecast, but did need the work, so took some pretty awful roles in later life, after starring alongside Oliver Reed, Michael Caine and other greats in his earlier career. But he wasn't prepared to schmooze to get the parts.

Really, he'll be in PoI? I stuck it out 8 episodes before deciding it wasn't for me (cause I too have the creep factor with those two!) but MAX!!!! I hearts him soo so much. I passed by his criminal minds ep the other day (don't know why since I don't watch TV much, perhaps I wasn't home?) and knew right away he'd do something...criminal. SIGH.

Yeah, I keep a check on his upcoming shows and I was kind of half excited, half dreading it. I'm sure there will be hoyay with Reese.

The Criminal Minds episode is weird. He's basically almost robotic for the first half, and pretty terrifying (the beard kind of amplifies the whole thing). But then you become kind of sympathetic to him, even though he's murdered dozens of people by then, including his own parents UGH, and he shaves off the beard and you sort of...feel bad for him. Even the team feels bad for him, and he's holding them at gunpoint. I felt like I needed a shower with a wire brush after that one, and the Dark Blue episode. Man, if I were his wife, I'd have made him sleep in some other part of the house for a long time afterward. Creeeeeeepy.

I just want him to be a good guy 'cause he so pretty.

I'm just applauding the fact that this post is 794 words on the wonderous Max Martini, quite apart from being awesome in itself \o/ (Pls pls write the thing on The Unit because yes).

You know, it's awful that given the chance to talk about him, I could go on FOR HOURS. I've felt so alone in my love for him for so long, and I'm so glad there's this whole new interest in him after Pacific Rim.

He better fucking well be in PR2 or I am not going!!!!

OMG tonight I watched an episode of The Unit that I had completely purged from my brain. He did a terrible Aussie accent! Oh, the difference a good dialect coach can make.

They did horrible, horrible things to him in the wardrobe department as well in The Unit, although at least he got to wear the biker t-shirts a lot. I 100% approved of those *g*

And yay for increased interest in Max Martini. I feel this also about Richard Armitage, thanks to The Hobbit. Hot dad types for one and all!
