I'm so full up of anger right now, and I hate everyone so, so much, that I have to write about something I like or my head will 'splode if I don't. So I decided to talk about a movie that blipped on very few radars, more's the pity (feochadn, this one's for you): a little indie from 2000 called SongcatcherI've seen a lot of people talk about roots music

I *love* Songcatcher. I became a huge fan of Janet McTeer after seeing her at Sundance (promoting Tumbleweeds, also a terrific movie, if you haven't already seen it), and thought she was wonderful as Lily. Emmy and Aidan were amazing, too. And Pat Carroll! I think I'd only ever seen her on game shows as a kid, and maybe Love Boat, so her performance was a huge but wonderful surprise.
