Hehe! I don't think there's a relation between the Cardinal and John Ratzenberger, who, by the way, played Major Bren Derlin in Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes back.

According to the article, this guy is said to be the "intellectual bedfellow" of Pope John Paul II, which to me means that he holds similar views as the most recent pope did. The article also claims that he "carried out many of the pope's functions as leader of the Catholic Church." In other words, this guy has been in charge of things for a while now. Hmmm....
