That is a really interesting take on Trowa though I like the way it shows his anger at having to shut himself down emotionally to survive while Duo coped by going the other way.

I thought you did a really good job of getting into Trowa's head. Duo's too for that matter.

Thank you. It was incredibly hard to write poor Trowa this way; I have my own perceptions of him and I just twisted them a little bit. I really adore them both, so it was an interesting exercise in what I could do to warp Duo's sense of humor and Trowa's mind a little to fit the role the story wanted.

Hi I don't tend to read hard!PG-13, so I skimmed over bits (sorry! I am just kind of wimpy :)), but I did read it and I wanted to say that considering what Trowa might've had to do w/OZ, was really cool!

I don't quite picture Trowa and Duo as being so hate-y as they are in this fic in canon, but from what I didn't skim I think you portrayed the characters based off that assumption ("Trowa really dislikes Duo")well! :)

Thank you. I actually got the perception of that from the fansubs that I got about 13 years ago or so, as well as some of the pictures in the art books. I merely pushed it much further and made Trowa a lot harder inside than I believe he really is. It was a challenge; one I was grateful for, now that it's over. :)

An interesting take on the relationship between these two pilots. I can't quite see it, in the context of the series, but as written, it works very well.

And good for Duo for not breaking. :D

Thank you. As I stated to dictaor_duck above, it was fansubs and pushing the relationship to more of a hate role than one of disinterest for the most part. Duo, in the fansubs I had, didn't dislike Trowa, just thought he was "weird." Trowa didn't seem to have an overall opinion of Duo, so I figured I could push the envelope and make it into something the requester wanted.

ohh, dark and angsty. i like a Lot! at first i was thinking "ho hum, just another story about Trowa having to keep his cover and play an OZzie", but, fairly quickly, it became clear that there was much more to this.

i'd never imagined the idea of Trowa wanting to break down Duo's happy-go-lucky attitude, but it does sorta fit, to tell the truth. delivered here excellently. ... it is a bit odd that it ends with Trowa so brazenly hoping to smite Duo in the future, though. i'd thought he'd at least concede their common cause or some admiration for Duo's toughness...

Duo is spot on in this. Trowa's a bit out of it, but given the sort of treachery in this, i guess he almost has to be.

"He had the eyes of a survivor in the way the others would never be able to touch. He had the eyes that should have been just as dead as his own, but instead, they were still full of emotion and life. Trowa hated those eyes." this part was the kingpin of the story for me. powerful.

Thank you. I guess this story turned out much better than I expected for people to actually like it. :) I'm surprised, since I am rather rusty at writing GW, but I'm glad to be back again.

Personally, I think Trowa does respect Duo, so it was kind of strange for me to write him actually hating Duo that much. I just took a sort of ambivalence and twisted it up to high gear to make things more interesting and to fit the requester's ideas.

Wow, that was powerful! And a little disturbing, seeing Trowa actually enjoying Duo getting hurt and hurting Duo himself. But I'm buying it, you make this Trowa believable. I especially liked the input about Duo not needing Trowa, therefore making Trowa not care about him.

Thanks. That's about the only statement that I do truly believe about their relationship, to be honest. If you'll notice, Trowa managed to bond with all the others when they needed someone, but Duo was so fiercely independent that until the whole thing with Duo finding him at the circus, they really didn't get the chance to bond in that way and when it came to it, Trowa was the one that needed someone, not the other way around. Just a few twists here and there and I'm glad I came up with something that people wound up liking.
