I have as I said read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and my instant reaction was to hate it but I am wondering if I should read it again and give it a another go
( Read more... )
It was worth the read to see Snape get the recognition he deserved, but I struggled with it too. It read like bad fan fiction. I mean... Bad. So conflicted because I Love Jo and I love Harry Potter, but this, perhaps should have stayed out of a book and off the shelves.
Soooooo glad you read this too! Nobody else I know has and I'm dying to talk about it!
This actually my second go at it. As you say bad fan fiction. This was my second time reading it. The first time I read it I was in such disgust that I was really upset this time I was much calmer. I read a little more about the play and what it felt like to see it and the magic behind (effects) behind it. I was very disappointed still after reading it I never liked the Epilogue so I had a huge problem already. But my theories who the cursed child have changed but I have so many problems with the plot wholes and the complete change in people's characters. The certain things people said I can't believe would come out of people who I believed in for so many years

You are so right! I don't think that's how the characters would have behaved. And even though I was happy Snape get some recognition he so very much deserved it was way out of character for him to just accept and believe Scorpious's story and lead him to Hermione and Ron. I would have expected some veritaserum in the very least. It just, sadly read as fan fiction and I have actually read much better fan fiction before. I would love to love this story, but I don't. I'm a bit disgusted with it.
