Felt kinda like crap today

Woke up at 430am with the worst migraine. It wouldn't go away. I tried calling in to work at 7, was told to call back at 7:15 to talk to supervisor. She called me first, and asked if I'd found anyone. I proceeded to become angry after hanging up with her (but she said she'd give someone a call and call me back) because I thought, what kind of ( Read more... )

Ack - I hate that policy, too. It has sprung up in more and more workplaces here of late and it is just stupidity and laziness on the part of supervisors. It's like the other day wehn I put in an application for work and a friend of the family was like 'So, you gonna call them?' For fucking WHAT?! I put in the application, gave them everything they needed to know and my phone number is right. the fuck. THERE. Yhey are suppose to call ME and let ME know if I have a job. If they require me to call THEM, I mosty likely don't wanna work with such lazy assholes in the first place! UGH.

I hope you feel better soon, darling! and yay for all the arrangements being made!! Whoot!

For me it is 'anyway', lol!! But yes, tis aggravating!

*hugs you*

Get some rest, lovie!

I tend to start non-fic sentences with 'so' as well lol

And that policy... I don't think it's fair. People don't CHOOSE to be sick. Ok, so some probably pull sick days but when it's actually true? Shouldn't be up to you to find a replacement. I feel it should be up to the person in charge. Comes with the part of the job that states you're 'in charge'...

I quite agree. Also, I think it should be mandatory to have one extra staff at all times in case a staff is suddenly sick--so that a replacement should only need to be found if two staff are sick. Make sense?

We had a staff stay home sick one day (she lives like a two minute walk away) but she had to come in to cover lunches. WTF?

Sigh. Oh well.
