Something fun

My son was going to the movies tonight to see the last of the Hobbit. Being short on joy lately, I asked if I could go too. Turns out some of the other parents were going, and most of the kids were ones we'd had up to the island with us, that is, ones I knew well ( Read more... )

The bad: my husband has plans to see it in Boston tomorrow. I suspected he did and confirmed that before I bought the tickets, but didn't discuss my plans with him. He got home at 6:15 and I just told him I was going, too.

We have settled in to a method of never speaking to each other that prevents fights, but makes me lonely when I am with him.

Also, while I was in the movies, having only worked ten hours today, someone sent me a long furious email about my unavailability to meet with them within the next two days.

I wish I hadn't checked my phone. I didn't read it, just enough to poison the evening.

The heat is working at the office. It was traumatic and I am traumatized. Once again, the three hours of billable time I got was vastly overshadowed by the amount of hours I spent doing overhead, and what my business made is a tiny fraction of what I had to pay.

I cannot keep being the only productive worker AND doing all the overhead, too.

I loved Sylvester McCoy as The Doctor. And he was a lot of fun as Radagast.

Sorry you're having such a stressful time at the moment. I wish that you had more competent people working with you, and didn't have to carry so much of the load yourself.

Peter Jackson has inserted Dr Who into the Hobbit? I am completely flaggergasted and not in a good way.
Baring in mind despite loving The Lord of the Rings movies I gave up after seeing the first Hobbit film.

I'm glad that going out with your son brought some happiness to your life.

The actor who played the seventh doctor is also playing a character in this movie.

Have you read the original Hobbit story by Tolkien? It is worth reading if you have not.
