There was a tornado in my valley this evening. It was 40 miles away in the Big City, no where near my house. But, heh, guess where I was? ( In the tornado. )
I was thinking about you and didn't even know you were in the Big City!
I waited out a semi-big thunderstorm in my car at the grocery store yesterday morning. I had Dolly with me and didn't want to leave her alone in the car.
Thanks for the tip about getting under the car. Jet and I are slightly nervous about this tornado business, given how much driving through tornado zones (which now apparently are EVERYWHERE) we are doing. We (and the rest of the highway) were stopped on the road on our way to Florida due to horrible rain and hail and then MASSIVE winds. We were shielded by the full force of it due to being next to a semi but as I sat there watching the rain get blown so it was 'coming down' more and more horizontally, all I could think was "this is not right". I didn't say anything to Jet but I thought "oh fuck, we're in the path of a tornado". We were not, but I don't recall when I last felt so helpless.
