We had a community-wide conversation about homelessness this summer when someone realized that the town common was available by right for anyone who wanted to camp there. It didn't have bathroom facilities after the bus station (nearby) closed, but was within a block of the YMCA for showers and the Library as a place to hang in the day. A bunch of ( Read more... )

I really understand this. When I have attempted to help people who need it, it always. always. always goes awry in just the way it has for you. Part of the problem is that it takes a village to help get people back on their feet, just like it does to raise one child. If you become the village, and it's just you, you got big problems ( ... )

It's a very tricky situation, as you said if you try to help these people you'll never get rid of them because they have nowhere else to go.

If you want to help you could always help a homeless shelter
