I really understand this. When I have attempted to help people who need it, it always. always. always goes awry in just the way it has for you. Part of the problem is that it takes a village to help get people back on their feet, just like it does to raise one child. If you become the village, and it's just you, you got big problems

It's a very tricky situation, as you said if you try to help these people you'll never get rid of them because they have nowhere else to go.
