Sounds a bit like the car is at what is described as "end of economic life", where the amount of repairs required to keep it on the road, year by year, exceed it's nominal value. You may fix all of those things listed, and then find that by next year another bunch of things have failed. And again by the next year.
That said - some of the things the garage has listed are overly harsh in my opinion. I reckon if you fixed up some of the things listed, and found a garage that wasn't taking the piss, then you might get away with more. (Eg. if you cleaned the engine down (cheap and easy to do) they might ignore or not notice the oil leaks.) I mean, since when has "rear wiper rubber needs replacing" been that serious? Still, even the serious items there are going to add up to a bit; what do you think you'll do now?
I vote for "get really trashed at an awesome birthday party and worry about it later" though :) (Wish i could be there *hug*)
The pilot episode of The IT Crowd was awesome. But I found it quickly devolved into fairly typical "Nerds are funny to laugh at, hee hee!" / slapstick comedy. Is Season 2 better than the second half of Season 1?
