Little help?

So... in the midst of transferring a bunch of music from cd's to my Macbook, a cd got caught in there.

It won't come out.

So, I decided to try rebooting it... nope. Nothing. Now it won't even boot into Mac OSX.

It just sits there, trying to read the disc over and over with a blank white screen.

Urgh. Have you tried powering it down for like 10 minutes and then trying?

erm. is it under warranty? If the various magic keys don't work, then I think it starts getting into invasive surgery territory - and best left to them before you invalidate the warranty by pulling it apart and jamming things into it.

if it's not under warranty, then try gently pushing a very thin and slightly flexible flat thing into the drive and trying to either push the CD furhter in, or down, in case taht triggers the "oh, it's in now, so i'll let you eject me" sensor, or if that fails, try levering it UP to get it to do some kind of "aargh it all went wrong, try ejecting" state.

Very technical terms, I know :) it's worked for me once before though

It's under warranty, but I need it for the party this weekend. And to get it fixed under warranty, I need to get webcentral to put it in, I think.

speaking of thin, is there no small hole in the side near the cd that you can push a paperclip into?

As i mentioned above... there is no manual eject button on the drive, because that's what F12 is supposed to do...
