Ugghh the past few days have been so distressing. It started Friday morning when a friend of mine who went on the Calstate International Program to Japan IMed me asking for permission to pour his heart out about how the program apparently sucked. He had a lot to say, but in short, he didn't enjoy himself because the dorms are crap? Basically, ( Read more... )

Oh man, that really sucks. Maybe he was just unlucky? I'll try asking my mum's friend who lives in Japan if she knows any thing about cheaper dorms with private showers.

Though! 12,000 is really cheap and like wtf!

Gah! Your grandma speaks fluent Japanese! How cooooooooooooool is that!

You know, most of what he had to say about Japan sucking was probably his own fault, so he probably WAS a bit unlucky. Nonetheless, I REALLY want to have a better, cheaper living situation. =_=

And my grandma makes up for her fluency with her personality. Doot dee doo~

I get what you mean. 12,000 and 70,000 is a huge difference! Not just shower-wise!

I think if you're going to pay 70,000 a month, you should at least get your own shower and not have to get up at six fucking AM O.o What kind of not-a-fitness program IMPOSES EXERCISE on adults anyway? Jeez.

Well, she stayed in a dorm that was provided by Tokyo Daigaku as opposed to like a privately-owned company, but even so, the Waseda website says that "Some private Japanese companies will rent extra rooms to international students. All such rooms are privately-owned and the rent is inexpensive, around 20,000 yen per month, including breakfast and dinner (utilities not included).", so, you know. :< (GOD, if such cheap deals are available why is Calstate sticking in a crappy 70,000 yen dorm T__T)
