If this is just exposition, I love it. Love the little flirty moment at the beginning between Cal and Gillian and then he went and ruined it completely. I absolutely LOVE when Emily and Gillian were speaking in unison and Gillian was going on about basketball. Best part. I could see them doing that and Cal being completely lost and confused. I could also see Reynolds and Foster talking about sports on their way somewhere. Really, I loved this chapter. The quiet moments between Cal and Gillian, the stealing of food, the awkwardness of Emily asking about Bobby, just everything was so awesome. I love chapters like this.

Aw goodness. You do good things for my self esteem. I loved the flirty moment too. There need to be more of those. And I'm glad you liked all the subtle things I threw in, because the basketball is totally something I could see them talking about. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Loved the chapter. To begin with cal/gill small moments are plain amazing. I enjoyed the 3 of them having meal. I love how you write gillian, you know, the woman has to be more complex than she normally lets on. I mean she handles lightman just well, she's sort of her own person here which is pretty cool.

Anything Cal/Gill is always fun. ALWAYS. Because they win at life. Oh and this woman is just as complex as Cal and I hope I do her justice. This story is all about making her a person, so I will be taking liberties in that regard ;)

Well. I love this. I'm half-way through the second season of The Practice, and since I started since the most recent Lie to Me episode, it's hard to keep Lindsay and Foster from blurring. This fic is helping.

It's so amusing when Gillian keeps spelling out Cal's thought processes, earlier with the drinks and now with his motivations. She's so perceptive and dry. I love the way you write Gillian. Heck, they're all awesomely done.

And for the record, exposition chapters are some of the best, in my opinion, especially when they show all the little moments and wit like this, with Emily and budget talk and suchlike. Thanks!

YAY PRACTICE TIEMS. It's quiet good, right? I shall do my darndest to keep Foster and Lindsay separate for you, though I can't help but see them as completely different. Lindsay was tended to ramble and say things she didn't mean. I long for the day to see Foster do that.

Um... back to fic. Right. Typically, when I include little moments and subtle comments, there's a reason, it just doesn't get revealed until later :) Good to know you appreciate it though.

I think it was just tempting to see Lindsay as Foster's history. The further I go...yeah. Not so much anymore. They're kind of flip sides.

In light of further development, theories are multiplying about little things here and there. hmmmmm....

This was amazing! I'm relatively new to the fandom and have started perusing Lightman/Foster fics, and your work is a breath of fresh air from the all the insanity that I've read so far. I really love the way you write Foster--you really get that serene air of hers, and that childlike quality as well. And most of all, I love that she's holding her own (as she does on the show) and not angsting over Cal or wringing her hands over his relationship with Zoe, like she's portrayed in every other fic in the fandom.

So thanks for this! I can't wait to read the next chapter.

Hahaha, there is some good stuff out there though, I made a rec post for a friend if you'd like some stuff to read, I at least have favorite authors, if that makes a difference :)

Foster is a boss, yo. Woman doesn't need to wring her hands over Cal, and I too hate it when she's written that way, because I've never seen it from her. Still. I digress.

I'd very much like some stuff to read! Can I see that rec post? :) So far I've come across a couple that I like, aside from your work.

And yeah, ITA about Foster being boss. It'd be nice if the show itself could give her more moments to shine instead of always being second best to Cal. I am overprotective of my favorite female characters lol.

Aanyway, read the fourth chapter as well! Great stuff and I LOVE badass Foster!

So a lot of these are current season, second half - so if you're delayed, you may want to wait a bit. Also, most of these are one-shots because this fandom is full of commitment-phobes. Most of these are on ff.net under those pennames, but Aimee5 is also etoilefiante on LJ. Pellucid is also just an LJ only... i think ( ... )
