That was interesting. You'd think she'd have plenty of authority, having been an instructor at Lake Victoria and all, but I suppose gundam pilots are particularly hard to keep in line. :P Trowa would probably be the only one to see the sense in fighting in formation and follow her lead, authority or no.
28. I have a long list that I dig into from time to time. Who knows, maybe I'll manage to write them all?
I adore Noin, I really do, she's a fantastic pilot and a good instructor, but she never struck me as someone with the right temperament to make a very good commander. Quatre, on the other hand, could make houseflies fly in formation.
*nod* That's pretty close to my own impression of Noin. She's obviously capable, but... seems reluctant to make independent decisions. Given her skill, courage, insight and resourcefullness, I think she'd do fine in a leading role as long as she wasn't too high up in the ranks. If that makes any sense.
I always thought this possible of Quatre, and your assessment of Heero, Trowa, Wufei, Duo and Noin especially, is spot on. Noin is smart and capable, a great teacher but ultimately not a leader. I think Heero learned to harness Zero as well, but not in the way that Quatre did.

I liked it. A lot. Awesome Quatre is too rare.
Noin lacked the necessary authority
