Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I find most organized religion to be full of bullshit.  And as a student of religion - I actually have a minor in Philosophy with an emphasis on religion - a lot of the findings that this movie present as fact are pretty well known.

I read an article in The Economist recently quoting a study that showed at least 17% or so of the people interviewed for the study thought that Billy Graham delivered the Sermon on the Mount, and another percentage thought that Noah's wife was Joan of Arc.

I could be wrong, but I also think I read a study a while back that showed that an embarrassingly large amount of people thought The Lord of the Rings trilogy was based on true events in the past. As in, they thought people battled Orc creatures a long long time ago.
