Well, it's not exactly by force, really. Rather, they just...won't stop asking. Euclid's been sending messengers and ambassadors carrying the same request for about six months now, and each one gets a little more overbearing.

...I've had enough encounters with knights to know that it takes a lot of devotion to one singular cause. And I just...can't be like that anymore. One belief just isn't the only belief, and I don't want to be bound to something that I might end up not having faith in.

Ah...w-well, I've only come to that decision after a lot of thinking. I...actually used to want to grow up as a knight, since my father used to be a Captain himself. I guess time just sort of...taught me a lot of things.

And my friends need me here, anyhow. So I can't just abandon them, either.

The Knights aren't for everyone, I can promise you that. But regardless, it's good that you know what you want. To be honest, I think you're much better off on your own.
