From what I see, it's impossible for any train to be significantly (or at all) more crowded that SMRT trains during peak hour. There's just no space for the trains to get any more crowded. (Not that the peak hour service is terrible--more like a problem with the transport system that leaves people with no choice.)

And the off-peak crowds, they are just inexcusable when the frequency is like 12 minutes per train.

Yes I have to agree 12 mins wait is just too long for trains.

yes the article was 1sided but i must say the MRT people here should be kicked in the butt: those who stand near doors n act dumb when doors open. those who do not move in the coach when there are breathing room n standing room inside. Tokyo, HK, Paris r more crowded but their cool weather less BO.

1 peeve i have w SMRT is their ventilation is bad. in past 3mths, i entered MRT train that smell like store rooms unioened since 1982. or dirty mosit air.

Smell? You're concerned about the smell when in the first place all those poor people have to walk in the heat and humidity to get to a train station only to wait 12mins and then get into a train packed to the brim? Of course got smell lah.

Oh I see. Been a long time since I took the train. Did u realise that the new trains don't seem to have sold the advertising space?
