Tsuuma and Me(su)mu?

Can anyone point me to a canon or even semi-canonical source for the names of Viral's wife and daughter in the "sweet dream" sequence? The only nearly official place I've seen a name for either is in translated credits for English-subbed versions of "Viral's Sweet Dream." I want to see these names in a Japanese-language source. An online or a paper ( Read more... )

I think the first time those names came up officially was at the bootleg event on January 20, 2008? You can find a transcript of the event in the Final Drill book, where on page 308, Kazuki Nakashima says the wife's name is "Tsuuma" (comes from "matsu," as in "a person who waits") and the daughter's name is "Memusu" (obviously taken from "musume").

He kept using "Memusu" for a while on the radio show and stuff, but by August 2008 (the Zenyasai event) he'd changed it to just "Memu" (perhaps to make the name origin not so obvious?). Then he used the names Tsuuma and Memu again in the 4th novel (pages 270-271) that came out in December 2008.

And that's all I can remember right now. ^^; If you need scans of anything, let me know.

Yeah, the interviewer asked about that too. XD "That's from 'tsuma,' right?" And Nakashima was like "No no no, she's a person who 'waits.' So 'Tsuuma' is from 'matsu.'"

awww, but I love the notion that viral is so dumb he would name his fantasy wife and daughter WIFE and DAUGHTER. :(
